William J. Hogan, ICD.D
President, CEO and Director
William J. Hogan is a highly motivated, results oriented entrepreneur with more than 35 years of work experience in developing, operating, financing and strategic planning for startup and growth level companies. He has held several senior executive positions as the chairman, ceo and president levels for several private companies. As well, Mr. Hogan’s extensive public company experience includes senior executive officer and director positions that provided a wealth of experience in a variety of diverse industries. His corporate structuring skills with private and public companies include several successful transactions by acquisition, reverse takeover and joint venture. Mr. Hogan’s professional development remains ongoing through his participation in numerous sales, securities and marketing seminars.
He has taken the Directors Financial Literacy Program and holds the designation of ICD.D of the Institute of Corporate Directors. Mr. Hogan also holds the Canadian Securities Course certificate from the Canadian Securities Institute.
Dr. Michael Giuffre
Chief Scientific Officer, Chairman of the Board and Director
Dr. Michael Giuffre MD, MBA has obtained many university educational achievements and industry acknowledgements throughout his prestigious career. He is a recent recipient of a Certified and Registered appointment by the American Academy of Cardiology, as “Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Cardiology.” Dr. Giuffre is currently a “Clinical Professor” of Cardiac Sciences and Pediatrics in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Calgary.
Dr. Giuffre is an active participant within health care administration and a devoted clinical and academic instructor at the University of Calgary, reflected via the many Gold Star Teaching awards he has ascertained over the past 15 years. Furthermore, Dr. Giuffre has received several additional research awards and bursaries from a variety of reputable agencies in Alberta and across Canada.
He is a health care consultant in the biotechnology sector and is currently on the board of a biotechnology company, DiaMedica (TSX). Dr. Giuffre is a volunteer on the Patrons’ Council for UNICEF Alberta and sits on the Board of Directors for UNICEF Canada. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Medical Association and is its Past President. Dr. Giuffre is a former Board member of MedMira, a public biotechnology in rapid diagnostics, and was a consultant for Redsky Inc. prior to it being sold to Research In Motion.
Dr. Giuffre is Chief Scientific Officer and Director of FoodChek Systems Inc. and, on November 24, 2017, he succeeded Mr. William J. Hogan as Chairman of the Board. He is also President of FoodChek Laboratories Inc.
Peter Aldrich, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Peter Aldrich has more than 35 years of combined finance experience in public accounting, public and private companies, along with public sector and federal government positions. He is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with Chartered Accountant (CA) designations and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree from Dalhousie University.
Throughout his professional career, Mr. Aldrich has held leadership roles ranging from Senior Audit Manager, Controller, Executive Director and other managerial roles pertaining to financial reporting and project management in various industries and organizations including Deloitte, PwC, Government of Canada, Oilexco Incorporated, Alberta Health Services, Husky Energy, and Lone Pine Resources.
Robert J. Iverach, Q.C., ICD.D
Executive Vice President, Finance and Legal
Robert Iverach earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Law from the London School of Economics. He has also been awarded the honorary distinction of Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.).
Mr. Iverach was a Founding Partner of Felesky Flynn LLP, a taxation law firm in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta from which he retired in 2005 after 28 years. He is currently the Chairman of the Board and CEO of PetroFrontier Corp. Mr. Iverach is Counsel with Burstall Winger Zammit LLP (a securities and corporate law firm in Calgary, Alberta).
He holds the designation of ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors and is a past examiner for its Directors Education Program.
Executive Vice President, Sales and Product Development
Terry Macartney has more than 30 years of laboratory and sales experience focused on expansion, upgrades and strategy for several prominent medical and scientific companies. With a Degree in Business Administration and a Post Graduate in Marketing, this dual citizen of both the UK and Canada has previously held President and CEO positions with various biotech companies, including Starplex Scientific Inc., Vancouver Medical Laboratories Inc. and Sabre Scientific Inc. His most recent work for Sabre Scientific Inc. in Calgary had Mr. Macartney focused on business and product development for both biotech and medical device manufacturers, successfully expanding the markets across North America and Europe and increasing sales by more than $100 million in just under a decade.
Mr. Macartney’s ability to design major product groups has been utilized by major clients including Dynacare Kasper Laboratories Inc., UTI (University of Calgary), Plastique Gusselin of France, Starplex Scientific Inc. and Zephyr Sleep Technologies Inc.
As well, Mr. Macartney has held several current and past external executive positions and directorships, including the AHFMR Executive in Residence for the University of Calgary and the Interim Executive Director for Biovantage Inc. in Calgary, Alberta.
Executive Vice President, Operations
Larry D’Andrea is an entrepreneurial business leader with a talent for developing and executing strategy, including building a team to successfully implement the strategic changes necessary to achieve results. Mr. D’Andrea has held several leadership positions including CEO and Managing Director, co-founded a successful business, and excels at building executive teams and business processes. He has functional experience in strategy development and execution, operations and sales and has worked in a wide variety of industries including automotive, medical devices, aerospace, industrial products, food and beverage, electronics, transportation and logistics, and consumer products.
Mr. D’Andrea held executive level positions at D’Andrea Consulting Inc., Grant Thornton, Alluence Capital Advisors, Inc., Ernst & Young, and University of Waterloo. He has worked in several countries including Canada, US, Mexico, Ireland, France, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, China, Japan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Mr. D’Andrea is a Professional Engineer and Certified Management Consultant and possesses a Masters and Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Ontario.
