DIRECTORS BIOS

William J. Hogan, ICD.D, President & CEO, Director
Mr. Hogan has over 25 years experience in the areas of development, financing and strategic planning for startup and growth level companies. Mr. Hogan has held several senior management positions at Chairman, CEO and President levels for several companies both public and private in diverse industries including life sciences, environmental and precious metal & base metal mining projects. His corporate structure skills include several successful transactions by acquisition, Reverse Takeovers & Joint Ventures. Mr. Hogan holds the designation of ICD.D and the Directors Financial Literacy Program from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

Robert J. Iverach, Q.C., ICD.D, Chairman
Mr. Iverach earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Alberta and a Masters of Law from the London School of Economics. He has also been awarded the honorary distinction of Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.).  He was a Founding Partner of Felesky Flynn LLP, a taxation law firm in Calgary and Edmonton, Alberta from which he retired in 2005 after 28 years. Mr. Iverach is currently the Chairman of the Board of each of Rodinia Oil Corp., Australia Energy Corp., Innovative Wireline Solutions Inc. (TSX-V).  He is also a Director of Fort Chicago Energy Partners LP (TSX) and Counsel with Burstall Winger LLP (a securities and corporate law firm in Calgary, Alberta). Mr. Iverach holds the designation of ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD) and is an examiner for its Directors Education Program.

Mr. Thompson MacDonald, ICD.D, Director
Mr. MacDonald has an extensive background in strategic communications and Corporate Governance providing strategies for private and public companies, media and government relations. Mr. MacDonald currently serves as Chairman of Walton International, an Alberta land assembly and development company and was the former Chairman of ENMAX, an Alberta based electricity utility. In 1993 Mr. MacDonald was appointed by the Prime Minister of Canada to the Board of Directors of Canadian Broadcasting Corporation; and was also Chairman, CBC Pension Trustees Board until 1999. Mr. MacDonald holds the designation of ICD.D from the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).

The Honourable Charlie Mayer, P.C., Director
Mr. Mayer brings to the Corporation an outstanding and distinguished political background with the Canadian Government as a Member of Parliament with portfolio appointments, which include Minister of Western Economic Diversification; Minister of State - Grains & Oilseeds; Minister of State – Canadian Wheat Board; and Minister of Agriculture.  Mr. Mayer was inducted into the prestigious Canadian Agricultural Hall of Fame in November 2005.  Mr. Mayer is currently active as a Director of CARE Canada. Mr. Mayer is a former Chairman of the Board of Directors of Teilhard Inc., Director of Canada Bread Company Limited and former Chairman of Agronix Inc.

Dr. Giuffre MD, MBA, Director
Dr. Giuffre has achieved many educational achievements and industry acknowledgements.  He is a recent recipient of a Certified and Registered appointment by the American Academy of Cardiology, as “Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Cardiology” and he was also recently promoted to “Clinical Professor” in the Faculty of Medicine at the U of Calgary in July 2009. Dr. Giuffre is a very active participant within health care administration and a devoted clinical and academic instructor at the U of C with Gold Star Teaching awards in 12 of the last 14 years. He has received past research awards and bursaries from many agencies in Alberta and Canada.  Dr. Giuffre is a past Board member of MedMira, a public biotechnology in rapid diagnostics, and is a past consultant for Redsky Inc. that was sold to Research In Motion (RIM). He remains a health care consultant in the biotechnology sector and is currently on the Board of IC2E International Inc. a healthcare informatics company. He is on the board of a biotechnology company, DiaMedica, currently traded on TSX. He is a volunteer on the Patrons’ Council for UNICEF Alberta and is on the Board of Directors for UNICEF Canada. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Alberta Medical Association and on the executive committee of this board.

Gerald Daviess, Director
Mr. Daviess has been the President of Quantum Design (QD) (the parent company of MagnaBioSciences LLC [MBS]) since 1996.  Mr. Daviess joined the QD in 1995 as the Director of sales and marketing and is largely responsible for super heading QD’s international expansion.  This included the incorporation of offices in China, India and Brazil.  In this capacity, Jerry has established himself as both and excellent strategist for international business growth and as an operational manager in each of the company’s foreign offices.  Mr. Daviess’ prior experience includes 8 years with GE Medical Systems (now GE Healthcare) in a variety of sales and marketing positions and 5 years with Toshiba America Medical Systems as the director of the CT Business Unit.  Mr. Daviess holds an MBA from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Bacteriology and Public Health from Washington State University.

Ron Schinnour, Director
Mr. Schinnour has held countless leadership and management roles in the agricultural industry, which has included positions with Monsanto, United Agri Products and Agrium (Cominco).  He recently moved back to Calgary and joined the UFA, holding the position of Executive VP of Agri Business. Mr. Schinnour’s expertise in Strategic Planning, Financial Leadership, International Business and M&A Leadership has been instrumental for the business growth of his current and previous companies.  Mr. Schinnour holds an MBA from Washington University with special recognition for Excellence in Team Leadership, Strategic Planning and Finance. He also holds a CMA Designation from the University of Calgary/Society of Management Accountants. Mr. Schinnour has been the Chairman and Director for RAPID & AEC, a Director for Latin America Agricultural Development Bank, AgroBio & Agricultural Future of America. He is currently a director for Universal Co-op and has been President, Treasurer and Director of numerous corporate entities at Monsanto and UAP.
